Privacy Policy

This policy explains how Foxbit Software Ltd. (“Foxbit”, “we”, “us”) handles personal information on foxbit.ca. Foxbit is based in Morden, Manitoba, Canada.

This policy covers the website only. Our applications each have their own privacy policy, linked from that application’s page on this site.

The short version

Foxbit sets no cookies of its own, runs no analytics, serves no advertising, and builds no profile of you. Every page except the contact page is a plain static page that asks nothing of you. The contact page loads Google reCAPTCHA, which does set a cookie — see below.

What we collect

If you use the contact form

The contact form asks for your name, your email address, and your message. We collect these only because you chose to send them, and we use them only to read and reply to your enquiry. We do not add you to a mailing list, and we do not sell, rent, or trade this information to anyone.

Spam prevention

The contact page runs Google reCAPTCHA v3 to tell real submissions from automated ones. reCAPTCHA collects hardware and software information and interaction data from your browser and sends it to Google for analysis. This happens on the contact page only. Google’s handling of that data is governed by the Google Privacy Policy and Google Terms of Service.

reCAPTCHA sets a cookie in your browser as part of this. It is the only cookie associated with this site, it is set by Google rather than by us, and it is set only if you visit the contact page.

Server logs

The site is hosted on Google Firebase Hosting, which records standard request information — including your IP address, the time of the request, the page requested, and your browser’s user agent string. These logs exist to operate and secure the service. We do not use them to identify individual visitors.

Who else sees your information

We use two third-party services, and only these two:

• Crunchforms — receives and delivers contact form submissions to us, and performs the server-side reCAPTCHA verification.
• Google — provides Firebase Hosting for the site and reCAPTCHA for the contact form.

Both may process and store data outside Canada, including in the United States, where it may be accessible to authorities under the laws of those jurisdictions.

We may also disclose personal information if required to do so by law, or where necessary to protect our rights or the safety of others.

What we do not do

• We set no cookies of our own — the only one is Google’s reCAPTCHA cookie on the contact page
• We do not run analytics or measure your behaviour across pages
• We do not serve advertising or share data with advertising networks
• We do not build user profiles or track you across other sites

How long we keep it

Contact form messages are kept for as long as they are useful for the enquiry, and for a reasonable period afterwards as a record of our correspondence. You can ask us to delete your message at any time. Server logs are retained by our host for its own operational retention period.

Your rights

Canada’s Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) applies to our handling of personal information. You have the right to ask what personal information we hold about you, to ask for a copy of it, to ask us to correct it if it is wrong, and to ask us to delete it. Send the request through our contact form and we will respond within a reasonable time.

If you are not satisfied with our response, you may bring a complaint to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.

Children

This site is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has sent us personal information through the contact form, please contact us and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The current version is always the one posted on this page, with its revision date shown above.
